The central government has removed the ban on dearness allowance for one and a half years. Allowance has been increased from 17 to 28 per cent. In the midst of rising inflation, this decision will benefit about 50 lakh central employees and pensioners.

The central government has removed the ban on dearness allowance for one and a half years. Dearness Allowance has been increased from 17 to 28 per cent. This decision was taken in the meeting of the Union Cabinet held on Wednesday. This decision will benefit about 50 lakh central employees and pensioners amid rising inflation during the Corona period. The Union Cabinet had a direct meeting on Wednesday after almost a year.
Pensioners to central employees have not received the installments of DA and DR for the last four periods. The DA for the period January 1, 2020, was withheld for the next one year on April 13, 2013. The government wanted to save this capital for medical emergencies. It was put on hold for the period from July 1, 2020, January 1, 2021 to July 1, 2021.

Let us tell you that at present, the Central Government employees get dearness allowance at the rate of 17 percent. This rate is going according to the amendment done in July, 2019. Actually, after July, 2019, the next amendment was to be done on January, 2020, but due to the coronavirus pandemic, the amendment of DA was stopped, so this amendment has been done now.
