Why are Bollywood movies released on Friday?

Why are Bollywood movies released on Friday?

Why Movies Released on Friday: Weekend is not the only reason for the release of Bollywood movies on Friday.

Why Movies Released on Friday: You must have often noticed that Bollywood movies are released in theaters only on Fridays. It is not that this system has started in the last one or two decades. Actually, this is a very old custom of Bollywood, which has been going on for many decades. However, have you ever wondered why all Bollywood movies are released only on Fridays? What is the special reason behind this? If not, then today we tell you the very special reason behind it. First of all, know that the only reason behind this is not the weekend only.

Friday is no less than a test for Indian films. Friday Collection (Friday CollectionIt decides how much power the film has and whether it will be a hit or a flop. In India for decades, films have been closed on Friday (Friday) is being released on the day. Ever wondered why Friday is the only day chosen for the release of this film? Probably the answer of most people would be that due to the weekend, the box office collection of films (Box Office Collection) is better, so Friday is the perfect day for the release of the film. This is not the only reason for this. There are many other reasons due to which this is being done.

Know here some important reasons

Many of us must be aware that the concept of releasing Bollywood films on Fridays has come from Hollywood, when the Hollywood film 'Gone with the Wind' was released on December 15, 1939.

Although the practice of releasing films on Fridays did not start until the late 1950s, the trend started with the film Mughal-e-Azam released on August 5, 1960, which was on Friday itself. Was in cinemas. Prithviraj Kapoor, Dilip Kumar and Madhubala were seen in the lead roles in this film. This means that Bollywood finally embraced this Hollywood legacy in the late 1960s.

In India, Friday is considered to be the day of Goddess Lakshmi. Therefore, the producers believed that releasing the film on Friday would bring prosperity and wealth. Most of the producers shoot the first shot of a film on Friday only according to the Muhurta. Because this day is considered auspicious by most of the religions in India.

The screening that producers have to pay for multiplex owners is the lowest on Fridays as compared to other days of the week. Also, in earlier times people used to get weekly salary, which was given to them on Friday. So, Friday used to be a pay day for them, and thus it was the best opportunity to hang out and watch a new movie.

According to media reports, there were no color televisions before the early 50s, so films were strategically released on Fridays for half a day due to informal norms in small scale industries in Mumbai.

The way of releasing films on Friday is actually based on the American pattern. For decades, America has a history of releasing films on this day. He also believes that after the release of the film, there is an increase in the box office collection of films from Saturday and Sunday.

In this way, in many ways, Friday was chosen for the release of films. Over time, it proved to be the official day of the release of films. However, this has happened many times in India when a day other than Friday was chosen for release on the occasion of the festival.
