More than 15,000 schools across the country will be qualitatively strengthened to incorporate all aspects of the National Education Policy.
These schools will emerge as Exemplar schools for other schools and provide guidance to other schools to achieve the objectives of the National Education Policy.
The PM SHRI (PM Schools for Rising India) scheme has been approved by the Cabinet of the Union Government on 7th September, 2022 as part of the implementation of the National Education Policy-2020. The main purpose of this scheme is to make the education of more than 15000 schools of the country more effective and quality by selecting more than 15000 schools in the country from 2023 to 2026, National Education Policy in schools selected under PM SHRI (PM Schools for Rising India) Scheme - All aspects of 2020 will be implemented so that these schools become role models for surrounding schools.
Under PM SHRI (PM Schools for Rising India) Scheme, a maximum of two schools per taluka, one Government Primary and one Government Secondary/Higher Secondary School will be selected. Criteria for selection of schools under PM SHRI Scheme have been fixed by the Central Government. Schools will be selected through challenge mode. For which the school has to go to the PM SHRI Scheme portal (https://pmshrischools.education.gov.in/) and register itself. The list of prescribed benchmark schools (schools drawn based on criteria) of your district having UDISE + code on PM SHRI portal is provided by Ministry of Education, Government of India. Only these schools can register on PM SHRI portal. The final selection of the schools will be done by an expert committee headed by the Ministry of Education, Government of India.
For this, the DPEO of each district has been appointed as DNO District Nodal Officer under PM SHRI, regarding which the process of creating user ID for DNO has been done on the portal through the mobile number and e-mail ID of each DPEO. Functioning of DPEO Shri as DNO :
List of PM HRI Portal Benchmark Schools (derived based on criteria) provided by Ministry of Education, Government of India. The list of district wise benchmark schools will appear on the login of each DNO (District Nodal Officer). DNO will INVITE the benchmark schools online for registration from their login, only then the schools can complete the school registration process through their login. Schools
After logging on to PM SHRI portal and giving the school information as “Yes” or “No” as per the given check list and submitting the application or not six NO has to be checked.
