Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has decided to increase the dearness allowance of the state government employees-pensioners by 3 percent from January 1, 2022 in the interest of the employees. 9.38 lakh employees-pensioners getting the benefit of the Seventh Pay Commission will get this benefit. Seven months difference amount of Dearness Allowance payable from January 1, 2022 will be paid in three installments. First installment will be given in August, 2022 second installment with September 2022 salary and third installment with October salary.


Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has taken a work-friendly decision to increase the dearness allowance of Gujarat government employees by three percent on central government basis with effect from 01-01-2022. It has also been stipulated that this additional benefit will be available only to the employees who have been given the benefit of the 7th Pay Commission.



According to this decision of the Chief Minister, approximately 9.38 lakh people of the state government, panchayat service and other employees and pensioners of the state government will get this additional benefit of dearness allowance. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has decided to pay seven months of arrears due to this 3 percent increase in dearness allowance with effect from 01-01-2022, in three installments.


Accordingly, first installment of January to March difference amount will be paid with August 2022 salary and April to June difference amount with September 2022 salary and third installment with October-2022 salary. As a result of this increase in dearness allowance, the financial burden of the state government will increase by approximately Rs 1400 crore annually.


Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has made a big announcement for state government employees on Independence Day. Bhupendra Patel has announced a three percent hike in dearness allowance and expansion of welfare schemes under the National Food Security Act (NFSA).


During an Independence Day programme, Bhupendra Patel appealed to people to inculcate in their hearts the sense of national interest above all else. Bhupendra Patel has announced a three percent hike in DA for Gujarat government employees under the 7th Pay Commission with effect from January 1, 2022.


What else did the Chief Minister announce? Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel said that about 9.38 lakh employees of the state government, panchayat service and pensioners will get the benefit. This will increase the financial burden of the state government by Rs 1,400 crore annually, he said. Bhupendra Patel also announced the extension of one kilogram of gram (pulses) per card for NFSA card holders and raising the income limit eligibility criteria to cover beneficiaries under the law.

Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel said this, Bhupendra Patel said that 71 lakh NFSA card holders in all 250 talukas of the state will be given one kilogram of gram (lentil) per card per month at a subsidized rate. At present only people of 50 developing talukas are getting the benefit of the scheme.
