FaceRD App Launch: Now download Aadhaar Card by just showing face sitting at home!

Aadhaar card update: The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has launched Aadhaar Face RD app that will enable Aadhaar card holders to authenticate one's unique 12-digit identity number using one's face. The UIDAI has made it possible after enabling Aadhaar Authentication User Agencies (AUAs) to capture Aadhaar card holders face for authentication purpose.

FaceRD App: Aadhar Card is one of the most important documents in India. Its use has become essential for availing various other services including banking, vehicle registration and insurance policies. Aadhar card contains authenticated information of your biometrics and important personal information is recorded.

Aadhaar Card holders can now confirm their identity through Face Authentication, for this an app has been launched by UIDAI, its name has been named Aadhaar FaceRD by the company.

The UIDAI also tweeted a brie video in regard to the newly launched Aadhaar Face RD app and claimed, "Aadhaar Face RD App captures live person’s face for Aadhaar authentication using Face Authentication Technology," adding, "Aadhaar Face Authentication technology has been developed inhouse by UIDAI."

This UIDAI's in-house built technology would enable Aadhaar card users to verify one's unique identity number from any place any time. This newly launched Aadhaar Face RD app, a Aadhaar card holder need not to carry its physical identification any more. Now, Aadhaar card holders' biometric data won't go into the private hands now as it will be restored in the Central Identity Data Repository (CIDA).

In a tweet on July 12, UIDAI said, "Aadhaar Face Authentication technology has been developed in-house by UIDAI. Aadhaar FaceRD App captures the face of a live person for Aadhaar authentication using Face Authentication Technology. "

How FaceRD App Works

According to the information, this FaceRD App uses Face Authentication Technology to capture the face of the user. Face Authentication can be used for various Aadhaar related applications like Jeevan Pramaan, Ration Distribution (PDS), Kovin Vaccination App, Farmers Welfare Schemes. Face Authentication feature (FaceRD App) works without OTP.

To use this feature, you do not need to go to Aadhar center, but you can download Aadhar card from mobile or laptop sitting at home.

This is how FaceRD App works

Step 1: Go to Google Play Store app and search for Aadhaar FaceRD.

Step 2: Install and open the app.

Step 3: Follow the on-screen face authentication guide and tap on 'Proceed'.

Step 4: For better face authentication, you have to get closer to the camera, and clean the camera lens before use.

Step 5: After this, through the app, you can download your Aadhar card by capturing the face.
