Department of Education considering starting primary schools

The state government is likely to start classes for Std-1 to 5 schools. The government has resumed school-college classes after the second wave of lockdowns following the outbreak of the corona virus. Special guidelines have also been issued. In the meantime, discussions are also going on about starting classes 1 to 5.

  • Offline classes will start for students of standard 1 to 5
  • Primary education will begin as per Corona's guideline

A circular was issued by the education department to close all schools during the Corona period, after which some classes were resumed as per the transition routine. Although classes 1 to 5 have not been started in schools yet, there are indications that the government has made up its mind to start offline classes for the remaining standards from December.

Plan to continue school 4 days a week

According to Corona's guideline, primary education will start after a long time. The education department is currently considering starting primary schools from standard 1 to 5. It is learned that these classes will be opened in early December. The plan is to continue school for 4 days in a week. If the duration of primary school is also reduced then the education department may decide to increase the number of annual education days.

The signal was given by Education Minister Jitu Waghan on November 5

Education Minister Jitu Waghan said that all the preparations for starting primary school in the state have been completed, after the decision of the committee meeting with experts will decide whether to resume schools or not, The decision will be made, said Jitu Waghan. The decision to start primary schools after Diwali may be taken now that Diwali vacation is going on in all the schools in the state.

On the other hand, Education Minister Jitu Waghan had earlier stated that children have not gone to school for the last two years. So we are going to form a committee to reopen schools in the state. We are now moving in the direction of getting children back to school quickly. The final decision on starting children's schools will be taken only after consultation with officials, education experts and parents, said Jitu Waghan.

It is to be mentioned that the government is also considering to reduce the weekly time of classes 1 to 5.

  • Government's exercise to start Std. 1 to 5 classes
  • Classes likely to start on December 1st
  • Weekly time of Std. 1 to 5 classes will be reduced
  • The academic session of the week will be 4 days instead of 6
  • There will be an increase in the number of days in the academic session from class 1 to 5

School should be started as soon as Diwali vacation opens: School Board of Governors

It may be mentioned here that offline education has been started for Std. 6 to 12 and college. Jatinbhai Bharade, Vice President, Gujarat Swanirbhar School Management Board, said, "Our main demand is to start offline education of Std. 6 to 12 and Std. 1 to 5 classes after the introduction of offline education in the college." As the Diwali vacation is going to start from next Saturday after the completion of the unit test, our demand is to allow the opening of Diwali vacation i.e. from 21st November to start offline classes of standard 1 to 5. Offline education continues for standard 6 to 12 and college. It took about two months. Although 90% attendance of students is seen in the school, there is no discrepancy in any school or college in Gujarat, so now it is necessary to start classes of Std. 1 to 5 offline.
